Surgery surgery surgery

Hey all,

Today has been busy medical madness. OK - First, this will probably be short. First - I had my cataract taken out this morning, and second, I can hear a lovely Florida Thunderstorm rolling in. I can't see well, and have been cautioned against thinking too much today. (Seriously - they tell you not to make any major legal decisions and so forth. I find it hard to believe anesthesia can make me even more of a blond, but there you have it.) I apologize for typos. Sometimes I see the screen twice.

I am fine. A bit swollen. No blood. No pain. Nuff said.

On to little miss no-name. She is fine. She has a long run of stitches up her back leg and one of those fashionable plastic collars to keep her off them.

Inside she has two long pins spanning the break, realigning it, and supporting it. No cast. It has GOT to feel better having all those pieces back where they belong. Now all we have to do is keep her ladyship from jumping around for the next 6 weeks. (As you may recall - this is the kitten who jumped out of her box BEFORE the break was set.

To quote Bugs Bunny, "You realize of course, that this means war!"

The front leg is still paralyzed. it may or may not come back with time. If it doesn't we will have to take her for another surgery when she finishes growing. They will fuse the bones in her elbow and wrist so that she can use it like a peg leg for support.

I'll fill in more later. Thanks to everyone for all the support!

39 is a little young to have cataract removed, IMHO.:(

And you are so generous about trying to save a little kitten's life as well as trying to find her a good home...you may end up keeping her anyway.:)

I am not 100% sane.
glad to hear went well for you :)

as for the cat...try using tape.

lots of tape - and if she gets out of that well, damn.

And we were laughing at the stars
While our feet clung tight to the ground.
So pleased with ourselves
For using so many verbs and nouns.
Wow, hectic. Good luck with the cat, I hope your eyesight gets better.

Ask yourself: What would Starscream do?
Heh...right now, just sitting around riding out the rest of my drugs and letting the man wait on me more than he should! ;-)

Yeah, but it was a doozy. I took steroids for allergies when I was in high school. They didn't do a damned thing for my breathing, but looky! I got the ultra rare side-effect in spades.

Oh, I think we are stuck with her. It just worries me because 1. we are broke and 2. we have one dog in particular who doesn't know the meaning of "low key". He is set on permanent "high bounce."
