Zoo Miami:  Miami (obviously,) Florida

Again, these birds are rescues.  I've only seen a handful in the wild but I do love them.  They are so striking.

Nice!  Are they native to Florida?

Depends on how you define "native."  They are originally from Mexico and S. Texas but have begun migrating on their own to Florida recently.  So they are established and breeding here, and they did it naturally, but they are a fairly recent addition.

A natural migration would be native in my book ;)

Yeah...somehow I don't feel so warm and fuzzy about the tegu lizards (we've got these guys in our neighborhood.) and the reticulated pythons.  I love reptiles, but not when they are introduced and killing off what belongs here.

I know what you mean, its due to human interference and not natural.
